Comment by Jean Cavanaugh on May 8, 2012 at 9:05am Thank you - I'll be interested in talking to Brian. There's an organic beekeeping yahoo group that I joined that has a lot of information about this, but I like to hear everyone's points of view on things.
We weren't able to go to this month's club meeting and next month we'll be out of town, but hopefully we'll be able to go regularly after that.

Comment by Bee Understanding. on May 7, 2012 at 9:46am I have heard that it is beneficial for control of veroa mites but haven't seen any-other benefits
first hand. But I have also never regressed a hive to the smaller cells.
Brian from the club (PBBKA) has done it he would be a good person to talk to.
He has small celled bees, it might be easier to buy a small cell hive from him and compare that hive with the hives you have.

Welcome to Bee Understanding, a network for those involved with promoting the education and plight of the honeybee. The Bee Understanding community is dedicated to spreading backyard bee keeping across the nation. One person can make a difference, one hive at a time!
BEE KEEPERS PAYING IT FORARD begins with doing a favor for another person without expecting to be paid back. We would request that the recipient of the favor do the same for someone else. The unconditional favors can be large or small as long as it’s done to inspire and educate. This site is dedicated to paying it forward by supplying novice bee keepers with education, experience, supplies, bees and a warm welcome into a community of close knit bee enthusiasts.
Please help us make a difference in this community by joining and sharing your wealth of knowledge of bees and becoming apart of our program. For more information about our program please click BEE KEEPERS PAYING IT FORWARD.
