I borrowed an extractor once and it was a real pain but this was simple. Squish/squash the honey wax and all in a pan with a spatula; filter it through a fine mesh kitchen strainer and pour into jars. The big left over blobs mound into a ball in some cheesecloth, squeeze and hang to drain. We plan to boil the left over wax and save for candle making.....

Welcome to Bee Understanding, a network for those involved with promoting the education and plight of the honeybee. The Bee Understanding community is dedicated to spreading backyard bee keeping across the nation. One person can make a difference, one hive at a time!
BEE KEEPERS PAYING IT FORARD begins with doing a favor for another person without expecting to be paid back. We would request that the recipient of the favor do the same for someone else. The unconditional favors can be large or small as long as it’s done to inspire and educate. This site is dedicated to paying it forward by supplying novice bee keepers with education, experience, supplies, bees and a warm welcome into a community of close knit bee enthusiasts.
Please help us make a difference in this community by joining and sharing your wealth of knowledge of bees and becoming apart of our program. For more information about our program please click BEE KEEPERS PAYING IT FORWARD.
