Bee Beetles

Posted on February 22, 2013 at 11:53am 0 Comments

I was checking my hive...I noticed a small odd looking insect...turns out its a bee beetle I shook them out of each frame...and tried dusting each frame with powdered sugar....how often should I do this?each week? twice a week? I've seen videos on youtube but like some REAL experinced bee keepers that have dealt with this for help...only had this hive since Nov...thanks everyone.

Hi Wendell,

Haven't gotten my hive yet. Anxiously waiting.  My fruit trees will love the help.  Did you get your mango?

Welcome

Welcome to Bee Understanding, a network for those involved with promoting the education and plight of the honeybee. The Bee Understanding community is dedicated to spreading backyard bee keeping across the nation. One person can make a difference, one hive at a time!

BEE KEEPERS PAYING IT FORARD begins with doing a favor for another person without expecting to be paid back.  We would request that the recipient of the favor do the same for someone else.  The unconditional favors can be large or small as long as it’s done to inspire and educate.  This site is dedicated to paying it forward by supplying novice bee keepers with education, experience, supplies, bees and a warm welcome into a community of close knit bee enthusiasts.

Please help us make a difference in this community by joining and sharing your wealth of knowledge of bees and becoming apart of our program.   For more information about our program please click BEE KEEPERS PAYING IT FORWARD.
