Welcome to Bee Understanding, a network for those involved with promoting the education and plight of the honeybee. The Bee Understanding community is dedicated to spreading backyard bee keeping across the nation. One person can make a difference, one hive at a time!
BEE KEEPERS PAYING IT FORARD begins with doing a favor for another person without expecting to be paid back. We would request that the recipient of the favor do the same for someone else. The unconditional favors can be large or small as long as it’s done to inspire and educate. This site is dedicated to paying it forward by supplying novice bee keepers with education, experience, supplies, bees and a warm welcome into a community of close knit bee enthusiasts.
Please help us make a difference in this community by joining and sharing your wealth of knowledge of bees and becoming apart of our program. For more information about our program please click BEE KEEPERS PAYING IT FORWARD.

Hi Al,
I have a hive to give. We are moving to Michigan and won't be taking it with us. It is a thriving hive with 2 boxes. We're so happy to have had this learning experience and plan to start again up there.
Hi Al;
How big an effort is it to get that extractor out of storage? I have 2 frames of honey left to process and I'd like to do it the easy way :)
Al V.
thanks Al! I'm in love!
Up! I was really surprised that that my eye became so swollen that I couldn't open it for a full day and then only open that eye partially for another day. The bee got me on the top front corner, over the left eye, and stung through my mop of hair. That was sting #12, the worst I'd experenced so far. My Dad (and Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs) used to say, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!"
Hi Al,
Great website and great idea. Please sign me up for your "Pay it Forward" program. I encourage anyone interested in the amazing honey bee participate; you couldn't ask for a better support network.
Al V.
