ABOUT PAY IT FORWARD

Bee Understanding is a non-profit 501 (c)3 organization dedicated to the understanding, education and promotion of honey bees and bee keeping.  To learn more press here about Our Mission.  The PAY IT FORWARD program is being initiated by Bee Understanding.   We are giving away starter kits, consisting of a hive box, bottom board, lid, frames and working bees to bee-ginner bee keepers in the West Palm Beach, Florida area.  

What is expected from the recipients of these hives is that they become a member of this community, join the group Palm Beach Care Givers, post questions, photo’s and the progress of their hive along with splitting that hive when it is strong enough and donating it to another wanna-bee  bee keeper.

You will be able to watch how backyard bee keeping spreads throughout the community by people PAYING IT FORWARD.  Bee Understanding is encouraging other bee keepers to split one of their hives and PAY IT FORWARD to a bee-ginner in their area.

would love to be put on the list to become part of the pay it forward program.i was introduced to your club through the rare fruit club in ft.pierce.i would like to get started asap as im preping my yard/garden for next year and would like to have the bees acclamaited by the time everything is ready to bloom.thanks

I am trying to find Palm Beach Care Givers but there is no information about how to do this. I am planning to attend the next Treasure Coast Bee Keepers (April 18th) and would like to participate in the Pay it Forward program. I have been doing searches for the Palm Beach Care Givers but I don't come up with anything. Can you please give more explicit instructions for how to participate in the program? Thank you so much. This sounds like a wonderful program and opportunity for showing some generosity and helping others! Thanks again!!

I heard you at the West Palm Beach garden club last week, my friend and I are ready to have hives set-up in our yards as part of your getting more backyard beekeepers. We have our suits and are still looking for a smoker. Please advise us as to our next step. Thank you.

My wife and I are new members of the beekeepers association. We spoke with you last meeting about becoming part of the pay it forward program. We have recently ordered our beekeeping equipment and are ready to learn.

Good evening, I am very interested in learning to keep honey bees. I have an extensive organic garden, hens and goats. We are DIY kind of people. Bees seems like they would make an nice addition to our urban farm. What is the next step in the process? Thank you for your time.

Welcome to Bee Understanding, a network for those involved with promoting the education and plight of the honeybee. The Bee Understanding community is dedicated to spreading backyard bee keeping across the nation. One person can make a difference, one hive at a time!  

BEE KEEPERS PAYING IT FORARD begins with doing a favor for another person without expecting to be paid back.  We would request that the recipient of the favor do the same for someone else.  The unconditional favors can be large or small as long as it’s done to inspire and educate.  This site is dedicated to paying it forward by supplying novice bee keepers with education, experience, supplies, bees and a warm welcome into a community of close knit bee enthusiasts.
